Is this what we wanted?

We would wake up early

to go on the bus,

to go to school,

and then complain about being there.

Laughter was sparked in the hallways,

the hugs, and the conversations.

But little did we know,

we would soon be alone,

at home all on our own.

Is this what we wanted?

We weren’t in school,

we didn’t have to wake up as early,

or run to the bus stop in the morning.

But it all happened so fast

and the laughter had turned into silence,

the hugs were now 6 feet apart,

and the conversations turned into calls.

Now, we complain again,

because we realized this change wasn’t what we wanted.
